Log Collection Tool
IMPORTANT: The Log Collection Tool applies to Windows only.
The Log Collection Tool enables the collection of logs for Lakeside customer support troubleshooting purposes. It allows you to generate information needed for escalated tickets.
Collect Log Files for Support
NOTE: The person collecting the log files must have administrator access.
-
If you encounter an issue with SysTrack and contact Lakeside customer support, they may send you a script to run. The script is a batch file (SysTrackLogCollection.bat) and a Powershell script (SysTrackLogCollection.ps1) that collects log information.
You can also download the zip file here: SysTrackLogCollection.zip.
-
Right-click the batch file to run it as an administrator. The Collect Log Files dialog box opens.
-
Enter the case number that customer support provided.
-
Choose a directory to save the log file and click OK. The log files collected contains the following data: machine information, registry information, system event log, application event log, etc.
-
After the zip file is created, send it to Lakeside customer support through the secure file share method that you use or as instructed by Lakeside customer support.
NOTE: Lakeside support may provide explanation to upload the zip file to https://uploads.lakesidesoftware.com or https://lakesidesoftware.sharefile.com.
